SUNDAY SCHOOL & YOUTH NEWS

The United Church of Christ came into
being in 1957 with the union of two Protestant denominations:  the
Evangelical and Reform Church and the Congregational Christian Churches.

Each of these was, in turn, the result of a union of two
earlier denominations.  If you wish to learn more about the national
denominations, click on www.ucc.org.

If you want to learn more about area UCC churches and
access their website or discover their service times or phone numbers,

The state UCC organization's website is www.wcucc.org.

Baptism is usually offered for infants
(but may be offered for adults) after reviewing the meanings of the
sacrament privately with the minister.

Communion or Lord's Supper is observed usually the
first Sunday of the month in both worship services;
At the informal service, children may commune after their parents and they
have spent time talking about communion with the aid of a training booklet.

At the traditional service, those who have been at least confirmed
are eligible to commune.

The minister does conduct other rites such as weddings
and funerals for the congregation's members routinely, but is willing
to serve non-members upon request.

Visitation of the sick and Counseling upon request are also functions of the minister.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a vibrant Christian
church which gives glory to God in Jesus Christ.  Our vision is to
create a place for Christian renewal of individuals and families.

Specifically our vision is:

 To create dynamic worship so all may
    experience God in Word, Sacrament, music and in sharing
    with other Christians;

 To welcome every person and invite them to
    meet Jesus Christ, no matter where they are on their
    spiritual journey;

 To provide empowerment and resources to
    help individuals, couples, and families to discover the
    power of faith that works in real life; and

 To offer opportunities for every person to
    grow in prayer, Bible study, and service to
    community and world.

Our Values

  Faith in Jesus Christ

  Passion for the Gospel which can transform

  Respect for every person
